Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Corporate Paralegal to support our legal and risk management teams. This role will focus on working with outside counsel, insurance companies, and internal stakeholders to manage legal claims, corporate compliance, and contractual matters. The ideal candidate will have experience handling litigation support, insurance claims, contract review, and corporate governance in a fast-paced business environment.

Key Responsibilities

Claims & Litigation Support:

• Coordinate and manage legal claims, including workers’ compensation, general liability, and property claims.
• Serve as a liaison between the company and outside counsel, tracking case progress and deadlines.
• Assist in responding to discovery requests, subpoenas, and document production for litigation.
• Maintain accurate records and case files related to ongoing claims and legal matters.

Insurance & Risk Management:

• Work closely with insurance providers and brokers to process claims, gather documentation, and track status updates.
• Assist in reviewing and managing insurance policies, certificates of insurance, and compliance requirements.
• Monitor claim reserves, settlements, and renewals in coordination with risk management and finance teams.

Corporate & Compliance Matters:

• Support corporate governance, including maintaining business entity filings, annual reports, and corporate records.
• Assist in drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, and legal correspondence.
• Conduct legal research on regulatory requirements and provide summaries to internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies and assist in developing risk mitigation strategies.

General Legal & Administrative Support:

• Maintain legal document management systems and databases.
• Prepare reports and summaries for executive leadership regarding legal matters and claim trends.
• Coordinate meetings and communications between legal, risk management, and external counsel.
• Assist in responding to regulatory inquiries and compliance audits as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal certification preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in a corporate paralegal, risk management, or litigation support role.
• Industry Experience: Experience in real estate, property management, or corporate risk management is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of litigation processes, insurance claims handling, and corporate governance.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
• High level of discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive legal matters.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, legal research tools, and document management systems.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to sit, stand, climb, stoop, and remain at a desk for a period of up to 8 hours or more if needed.
• Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs. as needed.
