Job Summary
The Talent and Onboarding Specialist is a dynamic role responsible for managing the end-to-end recruitment process and delivering an exceptional new hire onboarding experience. This position is critical in attracting top talent, fostering a welcoming and supportive onboarding environment, and ensuring a seamless transition for new employees into the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment:
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates for open positions.
- Source, screen, and interview candidates to match them with organizational needs and culture.
- Partner with hiring managers to identify job requirements and create compelling job postings.
- Maintain and manage job boards, applicant tracking systems, and recruitment pipelines.
- Coordinate and participate in career fairs, recruitment events, and networking opportunities to build a strong talent pipeline.
- Conduct background checks, verify references, and manage offer processes.
Onboarding:
- Design and deliver comprehensive new hire orientation sessions to educate employees about company policies, culture, and values.
- Coordinate onboarding schedules, ensuring new hires are prepared with tools, resources, and training.
- Act as the primary point of contact for new employees, addressing questions and fostering engagement during onboarding.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth onboarding process, including IT setup, HR documentation, and team introductions.
- Gather feedback from new hires to continuously improve the onboarding experience.
General HR Support:
- Maintain and update employee records in compliance with HR policies and legal requirements.
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives through recruitment and onboarding practices.
- Assist with additional HR projects, programs, and events as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in human resources or business administration or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
- 2 years of experience in recruitment, onboarding, or a related HR role.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems and HRIS platforms is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with recruitment tools and software.
- Knowledge of employment laws and best practices in recruitment and onboarding.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit, stand, climb, stoop, and remain at a desk for up to 8 hours or more if needed.
- Must be able to lift to 30 lbs. as needed.
