Medical Biller and Coder

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding of medical records, and facilitating timely collections. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a medical office environment.

Duties

• Review and verify patient information and insurance details for accuracy.
• Code medical procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10, CPT Coding
• Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement.
• Follow up on outstanding claims and manage the medical collection process.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure proper coding.
• Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.
• Other clerical duties as necessary

Skills

• Proficiency in medical coding, including ICD-10, ICD-10, CPT
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare systems.
• Experience with medical collections and understanding of insurance processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare professionals.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus, Athena EMR
