Valley Catholic Elementary School is seeking a part-time Kitchen Server (Dishwasher). The part time Kitchen Server (Dishwasher) works under the supervision of the Vice Principal and Kitchen Manager and works cooperatively with all members of the lunch staff and Valley Catholic Elementary School Staff.
Hours: M-F 10:45am-12:30pm
Pay: $15.95/hour

Job Scope:
The Kitchen Server (Dishwasher) encounters recurring work situations with occasional variations from the norm, with a moderate degree of complexity. The Kitchen Server (Dishwasher) also operates from established and well-known procedures, works under the supervision of the vice principal and Kitchen Manager, and works cooperatively with all members of the lunch staff and Valley Catholic Elementary School Staff.
Specific Job Skills:
Good organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary. There must be a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Problem solving, discretion, and interpersonal skills are needed. This includes, but is not limited to communication on social media and with other VCS staff. Teamwork is required. The ability to honor and maintain confidentiality is a must. Consistent attendance and punctuality is essential.
Education and/or Experience
The employee must be able to speak and understand basic English. At least one year’s experience in the food service industry is desired. The employee must attend a health department training in safe food handling practices and must obtain a Food Handler License at their own expense.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, stoop, talk, reach, sit, hear, handle, and perform repetitive motions of the hands/wrists and feet. The employee must be able to lift and/or move items weighing up to 35 pounds.
Working Environment:
Work is performed indoors.

Kitchen Server (Dishwasher) Duties:
- operate dishwasher to clean trays and other dirty dishes
- set up two pans with soapy water inside kitchen window for students to place spoons and forks
- put clean dishes away
- maintain clean silverware in lunchroom for student use
- back up food servers when requested
- clean dishwashing areas after all dishes are washed
- drain dishwasher and shut the dishwashers down
Other Kitchen Server (Dishwasher) Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Follow all food safety policies and guidelines specified by the Washington County Health Department, including wearing a hairnet and gloves when setting up and serving food.
- Use cleaning products, supplies, and procedures in line with the Sisters’ and the SSMO Health and Safety Committee’s philosophy of environmental safety and sustainability.
- Carry out any SSMO Campus Health and Safety Committee directives and policies.
- Serve as a positive Christian role model for the students and staff of Valley Catholic Elementary School.
- Maintain accurate timesheet records by clocking in and out through PayCom.
- Understand that the cafeteria is a shared space among all Valley Catholic Schools.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the school Vice Principal.
