Healthcare Associated Infections (HAI) Prevention Specialist
As a key member of our pediatric care team, the Infection Prevention Specialist will perform diverse functions using epidemiologic principles associated with the prevention of Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) surveillance, analysis, and interpretation and reporting of health care associated infections.
Responsibilities:
- Detection and management of clusters of healthcare-associated events
- Implementation of prevention measures to reduce the risk of HAI
- Providing ongoing education and training to both clinical and non-clinical staff, patients and families about infection prevention
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, Master's highly desirable
- Current California Registered Nurse, Clinical Lab Scientist license, or a combination of a Master's in Public Health and extensive Infection prevention experience
- Minimum 3 years related experience required
- Prior experience in hospital infection prevention is highly desirable
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required within 24 months of hire or transfer into position
