What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Scheduling Specialist - Patient Scheduling Center position at Valley Children's Healthcare?
This position is accountable for the processing of incoming and internal referrals from multiple sources. This role ensures that referrals are processed and patients are scheduled for services in a timely and accurate manner. Accountable for scheduling single appointments, multiple patient appointments with multiple providers, complex patient procedures, etc. Ensures delivery of appropriate patient information and communicates appropriate exam information, appointment times and exam prep instructions (if indicated). Coordinates scheduling related communication with physician offices, clinics, other hospital departments and patients. This position completes pre- registration at the time of scheduling and verifies receipt of all required documentation from the referral source.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of one-year related experience in a healthcare setting with knowledge of basic medical terminology required.
- Two years registration and scheduling experience specifically in a physician practice or clinic/hospital care setting preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a desire to provide exceptional customer service. Must be detail oriented, possess the ability to problem solve effectively and handle multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of Epic is desirable. In addition, familiarity with keyboarding and Microsoft products is preferred.
- Bilingual skills preferred.
EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma/ G.E.D. required.
POSITION DETAILS: Part time, 40 hours per pay period.
PAY RANGE: $18.70-$27.80
