Description
The Campus Facilities Manager oversees the daily operations, maintenance, and cleaning of campus facilities. This includes ensuring the safety, functionality, and appearance of all facilities while managing a team. The Campus Facilities Manager ensures compliance with health and safety regulations while fostering a positive and functional environment for students, faculty, and staff.
Role And Responsibilities
- Manages the daily operations of school facilities, ensuring they are safe, clean, and functional
- Works in the field/campus at least 85% of the time, actively completing and overseeing operations, maintenance, custodial and team activities on all campuses
- Oversees routine maintenance and repairs, scheduling work, and coordinating with maintenance staff and contractors.
- Ownership of campus grounds appearance, safety and functionality
- Ensures all facilities comply with health and safety regulations, conducts regular inspections, and addresses any issues.
- Serve as the first point of contact for all facilities and custodial needs
- Supervises and trains maintenance staff, providing guidance and performance evaluations
- Serves as the primary point of contact for faculty, staff, and administration regarding facilities issues, fostering clear communication
- Oversees facility improvement projects, ensuring they are completed on time
- Provides regular reports to the Campus Administration regarding maintenance, repairs, and operations
- Adheres to Valley Christian policies, procedures/processes, and codes
- Performs other duties assigned by Campus Administration or ELT (Executive Leadership Team)
- Performs other related assigned duties
- Participates in interviews and in the hiring of staff
- Trains, supervises, counsels, schedules, and evaluates performance of assigned staff
Qualifications and Skills:

- Must have and maintain a valid level one IVP fingerprint card
- Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Ability to multi-task with organization
- Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions
- Ability to maintain effective and appropriate relationships with outside vendors and businesses
- Ability to manage and lead a team, providing guidance and training
- Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions quickly
- Ability to oversees facility improvement projects
- 5 years of experience in facilities management, or a related role
- Proven experience in maintenance, operations, and project management
- Familiarity with building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and maintenance procedures
- Strong supervisory skills and leadership skills
- Must have an EPA 608-type II certification, or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire
- Must have 5 years of experience in related field
- Certifications in electrical and plumbing
- Post high school education/training in related field
- Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings when needed
- Use a computer (visual and keyboard) for long periods of time
- Able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) 25% of the time
- At times requires stooping, bending, turning, pushing, pulling, reaching and climbing stairs (2-story)
- Use of hands, fingers, arms to reach, grip and maneuver objects
- Must be able to respond quickly to sounds (fire/security alarms)
- Work in a noisy and crowded school environment
- Must be able to travel in state between campuses, to vendors, and to related events
- Frequent walking throughout the campuses 75% of the time
- Visual acuity for diagnosing and repairing maintenance and mechanical problems
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 70-100 pounds using safety measures to do so
- Working safely outdoors in varying temperatures
- Occasionally work in and around dust, fumes, and odors
