K-2 INCLUSION INTERVENTION SPECIALIST

Reports to: Special Education Director/Building Principal
Work Hours: 7:00-3:00
Work Year: 10 months for regular school year

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in special education or appropriate degree
2. K-12 Mild/Moderate Intervention Specialist License or ability to receive Intervention
Specialist licensure
Job Summary:
To support the learning of students with disabilities through planning, instruction, and
assessment. To implement various parts of the IEP including but not limited to
accommodations, goals, modifications, and specially designed instruction.
Responsibilities:
1. Co-teach with a general education teacher in an inclusion classroom.
2. Instruct students on IEPs in small group or one-on-one settings using the classroom
curriculum
3. Co-plan with other teachers to ensure instructional goals are being met
4. Administer assessments as appropriate
5. Modify curriculum based assessments as appropriate
6. Provide accommodations for students with IEPs including in class work, classroom
and state assessments
7. Provide direct instruction on IEP goals
8. Collect data on progress towards IEP goals
9. Enter IEP progress data into state reporting system quarterly or equivalent system
10. Submit IEP goal suggestions and background information to the Director of Special
Education or their designee.
11. Hallway assignments during arrival and dismissal as directed by the building
principal
12. Attend grade band meetings and provide input, when appropriate
13. Collect and analyze data to determine the effectiveness of instructional practices
14. With the general education teacher (when applicable), contact parents regarding the
performance of students with IEPs.
15. Attend professional development sessions as determined by the school calendar.
16. Complete other duties as assigned by the building principal and/or Director of
Special Education.
