Medical Biller and Coder

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of medical billing systems, coding practices, and patient account management.

Responsibilities

• Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG coding systems.
• Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and government agencies for reimbursement.
• Review patient records to ensure all necessary information is included for billing purposes.
• Follow up on unpaid claims and manage the medical collection process effectively.
• Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in medical records or billing information.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date medical records in compliance with privacy regulations.
• Collaborate with the medical office team to resolve billing issues and improve processes.

Experience

• Proven experience in medical billing and coding within a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical office operations and electronic health record (EHR) systems is essential.
• Knowledge of medical collection practices and patient account management is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently are crucial for success in this role.
• Certification in medical coding or billing is an advantage but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
