2nd Shift Skilled Production - Casepack Operator

Overview:

We are currently seeking a Skilled Production worker for our Batavia Plant.  The ideal candidates will have prior Case Packing experience and excellent communication skills. Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operation of case-packer machines.
• Operation of palletizing equipment.
• Proper adjustment and legibility of codes and flavors on packaging.
• Supply and insertion of knock down shippers to the machines.
• Supply, stock, and set up other case-packers.
• Operate and perform operator maintenance of coders and labelers.
• Assist Filler operator with changeovers and cleanup.
• Perform and document all required quality checks.
• Clean case-packers, palletizers, coders and labelers as required.
• Maintain the general housekeeping in the area and around the equipment.
• Participate in training as required.
• Follow and attend plant safety programs/teams.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus one to three months related experience, training or equivalent combination thereof.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

The employee is required to stand, walk, kneel, climb, use hands to fingers, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, taste and smell. The employee will regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. The employee regularly works with high-speed equipment and cleaning chemicals. When performing this job, the employee occasionally works in confined spaces or with fall protection.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. Company provided safety glasses or A.N.S.I approved prescription safety glasses are required.

While performing this job, employees are regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts and risk or electric shock. Walking surfaces may be wet and/or slippery due to water/liquid products, employees are required to wear Company approved non-skid, steel-toed shoes. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold and heat, including steam. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud, hearing protection is required. 

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  Ability to fill out routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively and convey information to other employees.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. 

Shift:

2nd (3-11:30pm) M-F w/ occasional Saturdays.

Pay:

$26.90 per hour*

*The hourly rate as indicated in the CBA.  The posted pay rate reflects just one component of our total rewards package. Other components of the total rewards package may include participation in group health and/or dental insurance, retirement plan, paid time away from work, and paid holidays.
