Duties
- Manage daily operations of the meat department, including inventory management, product preparation, and presentation.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Supervise and train staff in meat cutting techniques, food handling practices, and customer service excellence.
- Assist customers with product selection, provide cooking tips, and answer any inquiries regarding meat products.
- Monitor stock levels and order supplies as needed to maintain optimal inventory.
- Collaborate with other departments to promote special promotions or events related to meat products.
- Perform regular quality checks on all meat items to ensure freshness and quality standards are met.
Experience
- Proven experience in the food industry, specifically in a meat department or similar role.
- Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various meat cuts and preparation techniques.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers.
- Proficient in using knives and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management position is preferred but not required.
