Job Description

As a Clinician Registered Dietitian I , the employee supports the overall Mission and Vision of Valley Health by providing the highest quality and best-practice service to its customers. The Registered Dietitian I may be employed in any one of the acute or outpatient Valley Health settings, is an active member of the interdisciplinary team, is responsive to physician consults, assesses for nutrition risk and medically necessary needs of the patient and provides discipline specific interventions through the nutrition care process. The Registered Dietitian I is responsible for establishing and maintaining professional competence, identifying educational needs and seeking out learning opportunities from more advanced clinicians and specific continuing education. The Registered Dietitian I is mindful of the fiduciary responsibilities and delivers nutrition therapy in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to evidence based practice, documentation and billing guidelines, and begins to recognize need for program development and process improvement initiatives.

Bachelors Nutrition/Dietetics or Masters accepted by Commission on Dietetic Registration
Experience
2 Years clinical experience (4,160 hours)
Certification & Licensures
Registered Dietitian or Registry eligible within six months
Responder Certification - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required *
West Virginia licensure or eligible, if applicable.

- New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
- Basic computer and keyboarding skills or participation in computer training within the first year of employment.

- Learning and exhibiting consistent proficiency for entry level, setting defined, basic competency in the provision of discipline specific interventions.
