What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Programmer position at Valley Iron Inc?
Job Summary: M-F 8:30-5:00
The primary job responsibility of the CNC Programmer II is reading and interpreting design blueprints, creating nests for cutting- verifying all dimensions and callouts.
Essential Functions:
· Program/Nest parts in software for various types of equipment Flat Lasers, Waterjet, Alltra 1 & 2, Plate Processor, Shape Lasers, Press Brakes
· Accurately draw parts from prints or reverse engineer sample parts
· Blueprint reading, layout, 2D and 3D reading and drawing.
· Ability to nest shapes.
· Read and understand mechanical drawings and prints.
· Create sketches, PDFs, and 3D CAD models using engineering applications such as SolidWork, ArTube, AutoCAD or any other software.
· All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
1. Minimum Education Preferred: Associate Degree or Equivalent
2. Minimum Experience Preferred: 3 years of experience with 2d CNC programming and 3d Modeling.
3. Skills Required:
i. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
ii. Must be a self-starter, problem solver, and attention to detail.
iii. Knowledge of all carbon, stainless, and aluminum products
iv. Excellent computer skills (Excel and Word)
v. Strong time management
vi. Excellent math skills and attention to detail
vii. Ability to learn and understand the proper operation and use of different types of computer programs, i.e. AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or any other CAD/CAM software.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
