Job Title: Pickleball Professional
Reports To: Director of Racquets Sports
Status: Full-Time or seasonal
Compensation: $20/hr minimum
SUMMARY
Will organize and direct all Club racquet activities, events, socials, exhibitions, tournaments, teams, camps, group and private lessons, related to the Pickleball program.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • An individual of high moral character who demonstrates the following qualities in both personal and professional settings: Integrity, trustworthiness, respect, loyalty and humility.
  • Assist the racquets sports team in all areas of the racquet sports program, including program development and implementation, while staying up-to-date on industry trends.
  • An exceptional communicator who will instill Valley Lo Club’s Service Culture while effectively collaborating with a team of talented professionals to provide world-class member experiences is the Club’s hallmark.
  • An extensive background in high-caliber Pickleball operations demonstrating a balanced approach to programming that will engage all Pickleball playing constituencies and uphold the Club’s mission of providing excellent programs for all levels of ability.
  • Must be highly organized and possess strong programming and administrative skills, ability to prioritize tasks, anticipate needs and execute flawlessly.
  • Proactive and self-motivated in developing, executing and monitoring relevant Pickleball programs and best practices to improve member engagement and member satisfaction.
  • Maximize usage of Valley Lo Club racquet sports facilities to reduce attrition and attract new members.
  • Collaborate with Valley Lo Club clubhouse operations team, F&B, and athletic department in order to create new programming and events.
  • Develop, promote, and teach Pickleball clinics, groups and private lesson programs including a seasonal/weekly Pickleball clinic schedule.
  • Pickleball playing ability should be at a 5.0 level or higher.
  • Achieve monthly goals and financial targets for lessons/clinics, court revenue, tournaments, ball machine and all Pickleball related revenues.
  • Oversee all Pickleball events and tournaments to ensure successful planning and execution.
  • Assist in the development of racquet sports packages and programs, such as the “Stay and Play Racquets Retreats”, in order to promote Valley Lo Club, drive non-resident member engagement, and ancillary spend across property.
  • Help maintain facility in immaculate condition by maintaining courts in a professional, clean and safe manner.
  • Stay on the leading edge of progress and racquet sports teaching methods, industry trends, and technology advances.
  • Enforce all Racquet Sports policies.
  • Attend all staff meetings, other meetings, and trainings requested by the Head Racquets Professional Director of Racquets or the General Manager.
  • Contribute to overall team effort by completing additional duties as assigned, including assistance with the platform tennis program during the platform tennis season.

Qualifications:

  • Must be PPR, RSPA, or IPTPA or Pickleball certified 
  • Must have minimum of 1 year experience as a Racquet Sports Professional at a facility that has Pickleball programming

COMPUTER SKILLS
Basic Computer skills needed.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
PPR and USPTA at the highest-level excluding Master Professional for Pickleball.
