Valley Meals and More Daily Deliveries Manager

Overall Responsibilities include: Valley Meals and More (Valley Meals) Daily Delivery Manager is a rewarding experience, fulfilling the mission to enhance the wellness of older adults in the region by providing access to nutritious daily meals and connection to community members (our volunteers), to allow older residents to age in place, safely, independently and with dignity. Valley Meals Operations Manager will create/update daily delivery lists, plan and organize meal purchases, purchase & pick-up meals, create delivery routes and deliver meals to volunteers for delivery. Valley Meals Operations Manager must be organized and detail-oriented, comfortable working with diverse teams of coordinators and volunteers. Meals are delivered mid-day so the Operations Manager's hours fall between 9am-3pm. Deliveries occur four days each week (between 11:30am-1:30pm) with the 5th day being reserved for food distribution events, paperwork & meetings.

Key points about the role:

• Managing Drivers: Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers responsible for delivering meals.
• Client Coordination: Maintain meal client information, dietary needs, and delivery schedules.
• Quality Control: Ensuring proper food handling and safety standards, per State requirements, during delivery.
• Reporting and Administration: Tracking delivery data, managing routes, addressing any issues that may arise, reporting to Executive Director

Weekly Operations Manager Responsibilities

• Support planning and coordination of Valley Meals and More home delivered meal program
• Dedicated 30 hours/week
• Track expenditures/transactions
• Prepare daily delivery lists and routes for drivers
• Order daily meals (4x/week) from scheduled restaurants & vendors
• Prepare and deliver the insulated delivery bags to vendors (usually the afternoon prior to delivery day)
• Recruit volunteer drivers/deliverers for Valley Meals' "Meals on Wheels" Program
• Prepare and email weekly volunteer schedules at beginning of each week
• Maintain list of on-call substitute volunteers
• Interacting with Executive Director to assess daily challenges encountered and opportunities for improvement
• Keep updated records and submit monthly delivery summary reports, including copies of delivery lists and receipts, per federal requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Proven experience as a manager or relevant position
• Experience working with older adults or similar population
• Knowledge of budgeting, bookkeeping and reporting
• Tech savvy, proficient in MS Office
• Ability to work with diverse and multi-disciplinary teams of volunteers
• Excellent time-management and organizational skills
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented and efficient

Compensation Range: $3800-4000 month

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $3,600.00 - $4,000.00 per month
