JOB TITLE: Production Worker - Grinder
REPORTS TO: Shift Supervisor
JOB DUTIES:
1st shift opening. 6am- 2:30pm.
Assist with formulating, grinding, blending, and testing raw materials for production use per product specifications.
Measure and weigh raw ingredients.
Unbox meat to load and supply to the grinder as needed.
Haul empty boxes and trash to compactor or dumpster.
Perform fat tests and corrections per product specifications.
Assist with setting up or tearing down grinding equipment.
Maintain required batching paperwork.
Work designated hours May involve some overtime.
Produce product in an efficient and economical manner.
Maintain a safe and sanitary work area.
Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety rules and regulations.
Gain knowledge of production equipment and processes.
Assist in training new employees.
Establish a good working relationship with co-workers and supervisors.
Follow all Lockout/Tag out procedures.
Other duties as required

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES OF THIS POSITION:

BALANCING: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on slippery surfaces.
STOOPING: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
CROUCHING: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
REACHING: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
STANDING: Particularly for sustained periods of time.
WALKING: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long periods of time.
PUSHING: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
PULLING: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
LIFTING: Raising objects from a lower to a high position, lowering objects from a higher to a low position, or moving objects horizontally from position to position.
GRASPING: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
TALKING: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.

READING: Ability to read production schedules, grinding specifications, safety signs, scales, product labels, and any company policies and procedures distributed or posted.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:
HEAVY WORK: Lifting 45 - 60 pounds frequently.
MEDIUM WORK: Exerting force frequently to move objects.
CONDITIONS THE WORKER WILL BE SUBJECT TO IN THIS POSITION:
The worker is subject to cold: temperatures below 50 degrees for periods of up to 8 hours.
The worker is subject to noise: there is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard.
The worker is subject to potential hazards: includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, sharp tools, and electrical current.

Pay: From $16.50 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 45 per week
