JOB TITLE: Production Worker – Machine Operator
REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor
JOB DUTIES:
- Learn proper operating procedures for designated machine.
- Read and understand all product specifications.
- Set up and/or tear down production lines.
- Ensure line(s) are ready to start at scheduled starting time.
- Monitor purge/rework for acceptability and regrind in a timely manner.
- Produce products per product specifications.
- Verify accuracy of code dates, boxes, and labels.
- Complete required production paperwork promptly.
- Work designated hours (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM [1st Shift]). May involve some overtime.
- Always stay near machine.
- Produce product in an efficient and economical manner.
- Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized work area.
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety rules and regulations, and safety policies.
- Gain knowledge of production equipment and processes.
- Assist in training new employees.
- Establish a good working relationship with co-workers and supervisors.
- Adhere to Lock out/Tag out procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Responsible, dependable, reliable, good dexterity, quality, and safety conscious, and cooperative.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES OF THIS POSITION:
- CLIMBING: Ascending and descending stairs or work stands, using feet/legs and hands/arms.
- BALANCING: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on slippery surfaces.
- STOOPING: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
- CROUCHING: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
- REACHING: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
- STANDING: Particularly for sustained periods of time.
- WALKING: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for sustained periods of time.
- PUSHING: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward, or outward.
- PULLING: Using upper extremities to exert force to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
- LIFTING: Raising objects from a lower to a high position, lowering objects from a higher to a low position, or moving objects horizontally from position to position.
- FINGERING: Picking, pinching, or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather that with the whole hand or arm.

- READING: Ability to read production schedules, grinding specifications, safety signs, scales, product labels, and any company policies and procedures distributed or posted.
- REPETETIVE MOTION: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:
- MEDIUM WORK: Lifting up to 40 pounds occasionally, and up to 25 pounds frequently.
- MEDIUM WORK: Exerting force frequently to move objects.
- HEAVY WORK: Lifting up to 80 pounds, with assistance, occasionally.
CONDITIONS THE WORKER WILL BE SUBJECT TO IN THIS POSITION:
- The worker is subject to cold: temperatures below 50 degrees for periods of up to 8 hours.
- The worker is subject to noise: there is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout to be heard.
- The worker is subject to potential hazards includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, sharp tools, and electrical current.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
