- Key Responsibilities:**
- Greet customers and offer assistance in selecting the freshest fruits and vegetables.
- Provide expert advice on produce selection, preparation, and storage to enhance our customers' culinary experiences.
- Keep the produce displays fully stocked, organized, and visually appealing throughout the day.
- Assist with receiving, inspecting, and rotating incoming produce shipments to maintain freshness and quality.
- Address customer inquiries, resolve concerns, and handle special requests with professionalism and efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and safe working environment, including adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
- Alert Management of potential theft or other emergencies
- Remove trash promptly, clean up spills, sweep floor as needed
- Keep department equipment in working order and advise Produce Manager of equipment problems
- Attend Produce staff meetings and other assigned training requirements
- Identify self as an employee by being in VNF attire and name tag

Mandatory Qualifications:
- Excellent time management, organizational and communication (oral, aural, and written) skills
- Attentive and able to multi-task and remain flexible to the changing needs of the business
- Regular, predictable attendance
- Previous customer service experience
- Familiarity with natural foods, grocery industry or cooperatives
- Ability to lift/push/pull/carry up to 30 pounds frequently; 30-50 pounds occasionally
- Manual dexterity with ability to reach, grasp and utilize hands, wrists, and fingers for extended periods of time
- General range visual acuity to evaluate and interact in working environment for extended periods of time
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Regular exposure to working in refrigerated environments
- Ability to climb ladders, kneel, crouch, and bend occasionally required
