Produce Production Lead Position

Wholesale Produce Supply, LLC is one of the largest wholesale distributors of fresh produce in the Upper Midwest. Since its start in 1964, Wholesale Produce Supply has been steadily growing and building a stellar reputation in the produce industry.

Our produce packing operation is currently looking for one packing line lead. Qualified applicants will have experience leading and/or supervising the assembly work of between four to twelve workers at a time.

Work Schedule:  Monday through Friday 6am or 7am start time until finished.  Will work 8 to 12 hours a day depending on business needs. 

Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour DOQ

Line Leader Essential Functions:

· Responsible for the set-up of the production line to complete all orders efficiently, and to then assign tasks to each employee based on the orders received for that line throughout the shift.

· Direct assembly line workers by providing orders and instructions so that each member of the production line is aware of what they need to do and what they are responsible for, to maximize quality and productivity.

· Ensure that all orders are completed on time and by deadlines.

· Ensure that all team members are following company policies and stressing compliance of all health and safety best practices and good manufacturing practices.

Position Qualifications:

· Leadership – motivate the team and show support and guidance when necessary.

· Teamwork –oversee and manage the tasks of the packing line. Assist other employees and provide advice and/or guidance as needed.

· Communication skills – clearly relay instructions and procedures so that all tasks are completed accurately and on time.

· Time management –must manage time well; both as a leader and for the tasks assigned to members of your line.

· Problem-solving skills – when issues with production arise, line leaders must think quickly and proactively to resolve them as soon as possible.

•  Computer skills - Techy savvy, ERP system experience, Basic Excel skills a plus, 

Lead experience preferred within manufacturing, distribution, and/or food industry.  Experience working with a diverse workforce. 

Physical Requirements:

Qualified candidates will be able to lift, pull, push and carry up to 30 lbs. constantly, and occasionally as much as 50 lbs. This is work which requires standing and walking the entire shift and is performed in a room which is maintained at approximately 55 degrees. Sense of balance, touch and vision (near, distance, color and depth) are required as well.
