Design and implement personalized learning plans for students based on their interests, abilities, and learning goals, utilizing a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and technologies.
Collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues to identify learning objectives, assess student needs, and develop personalized learning pathways that support academic growth and achievement.
Provide ongoing support, guidance, and feedback to students as they work independently and in small groups to pursue their learning goals, monitor progress, and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel empowered to take ownership of their learning, explore their interests, and develop essential skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-direction.
Collaborate with parents to support student learning at home, including providing resources, strategies, and communication channels for parental involvement and support.
Support and guide independent study projects, research inquiries, and experiential learning opportunities that allow students to explore their interests, deepen their understanding of academic concepts, and make meaningful connections to real-world contexts.
Facilitate small group instruction three days each week promoting collaborative learning experiences among students and targeted support and scaffolding to help students achieve their learning objectives.
Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and learning artifacts, and communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues to track progress, celebrate achievements, and address any challenges or concerns.
Ensure that all students in grades 3 - 8 set and make progress towards personal performance goals in I-Ready.
Monitor student progress in I-Ready and analyze data at least monthly to provide feedback to students and parents.
Assign, evaluate and document each student’s home learning program using the Personalized Learning System (PLS).
Report attendance within the timelines provided by the school.
Collaborate with the Student Support Services Coordinator to implement the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS).
Attend IEP meetings and implement IEP accommodations, modifications, and behavior plans in the classroom.
Consult with parents as needed to support the home learning program.
Lead parent workshops on grade level standards, curriculum implementation, relevant parent interests or as determined by the school.
Participate in weekly meetings with colleagues focused on student learning and achievement.
Attend professional development and training as required by the school.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid California Multiple Subjects Credential
- Strong content and subject-matter knowledge
- Familiarity with the CA Common Core State Standards
- Ability to support and guide adults, as well as students
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organization and time-management skills
- Excellent writing and grammar skills
- TB Test clearance & DOJ fingerprinting clearance
- Must have strong computer skills including word processing, entering data into a database, using the internet, electronic mail, and other digital literacy skills
Other Duties:
Proctoring duties as needed for testing
Student supervision at recess and school events
Respond to all school related written correspondence, phone calls, voicemails, and emails within 24 business hours
Document and report to the school director any behavior or safety concerns involving students
