JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary
This position is responsible for supporting company projects, maintenance, and improvements to facilities. Primary focus is on plant infrastructure.
Essential Functions
- Perform carpentry work on Valley Queen-owned rental homes, temp shelters for projects and other special projects as assigned.
- Perform concrete work for small-scale projects which includes drill, cut, demo, prep, form, place, and finish.
- Install, maintain, and repair flooring finishes which includes tile floor systems.
- Install, maintain, and repair painted and caulked surfaces in heavy wash down locations utilizing industrial materials.
- Operate large equipment for construction-related duties and snow removal.
- Provide contractor coordination and oversight, ensures quality of work meets or exceeds Valley Queen standards. Verifies contract employees adhere to Valley Queen safety and quality policies.
- Address items on the corrective action database (CAD) in a timely manner so that the list is kept to 30 days current.
- Comply with all company safety rules to achieve no injuries and no lost-time accidents.
- Maintain standard records pertaining to daily work requirements in a manner that makes them a reliable data source for safety, quality and regulatory requirements and audits.
- Understand and adhere to all GMPs and food safety policies and procedures and perform all work in a manner that ensures the highest standard of food safety and quality.
- Attend and/or complete required safety and quality training sessions by the assigned deadlines
- Keep facilities shop, vehicles, equipment, work areas, shop tools, and personal tools in a neat, orderly, and sanitary manner.
- Use tools, materials, and supplies in responsible manner yielding maximum profitability for VQC while maintaining equipment and facility to the highest possible standard

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a shop and plant environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. Exposed to extreme temperature variations. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. This position works a 10- to 12-hour shift, Monday through Thursday with Fridays as needed. This position is on call during winter months when a snow event is forecasted.
Travel
Less than five percent out-of-town travel is expected for this position.
Required Education, Experience & Certifications
High school diploma/GED. Associate degree in related technical field or equivalent number of years of construction experience. Proficiency in basic computer skills.
Preferred Education, Experience & Certifications
Bilingual in English/Spanish.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Minimum age requirement is 18. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment.
