Position Summary
The Sanitation & Quality Compliance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing both food safety compliance and sanitation operations in our manufacturing facility. This dual-role position ensures that our products meet regulatory standards, customer expectations, and internal quality protocols, while also leading sanitation efforts to maintain a clean and safe production environment.
Essential Functions
Quality Assurance:
- Develop, implement, and enforce food safety programs (HACCP, FSMA, GMP, SQF).
- Conduct quality audits, inspections, and risk assessments to ensure compliance.
- Investigate and resolve quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.
- Work closely with production teams to ensure product consistency and safety.
- Enhances product quality through optimization of manufacturing processes.
- Works closely with production and technical services teams to ensure product quality standards and goals are attained.
- Audits suppliers and off-site warehouses to ensure compliance with Valley Queen Food Safety and Quality standards.
Sanitation Leadership:
- Lead and train sanitation team members to uphold high hygiene standards.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and industry sanitation guidelines.
- Monitor and manage sanitation schedules to minimize downtime.
- Oversee the proper use of cleaning chemicals and adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct routine sanitation audits, addressing any non-compliance issues.
- Maintain accurate quality assurance records and prepare reports for management.
- Develops sanitation standards, implements sanitation policies and ensures compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manages the relationship between Valley Queen and sanitation service providers.
- Develops and validates sanitation procedures.
- Guides Food Safety and Food Quality Auditors to complete internal facility audits, training of production leaders on audit priorities and verification of audit related corrective actions.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position is responsible for the performance management of the QA Supervisor and the Food Safety Food Quality Auditors. This position also provides direction to the Quality Assurance leadership team on day-to-day operations.
Work Environment
This job operates in a plant environment and office. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Exposed to extreme temperature variations. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Typical hours of work are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday with occasional weekends based on specific project needs.
Travel
Less than ten percent travel expected for this position.
Required Education, Experience & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of 10 years of experience in food manufacturing quality assurance and/or sanitation leadership. Knowledge of food safety regulations including HACCP, GMP, FSMA and SQF. Strong leadership and team management experience. Ability to conduct audits, troubleshoot quality issues and implement improvements. Detail oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
Preferred Education, Experience & Certifications
Master’s degree in food science. Bilingual in English/Spanish. Preventive Controls Qualified Individual certification.
