What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solar Installer / electrical apprentice (One-year solar exp.) position at Valley Solar?

Valley Solar, LLC. - One of the largest, locally-owned solar installers in Massachusetts - is looking for positive-minded individuals with a high aptitude for learning to join its solar field service team. Solar experience is not required, but you must have demonstrated experience working with your hands and technology.

Valley Solar prides itself on a high-performing, technically-advanced field services team. We install more complex battery storage systems (ESS) than any other MA-based contractor. So, you will work and train alongside some of the best electricians and technicians in the field.

We also provide comprehensive safety training and a culture of safety first. We value every member of our team and have low turnover.

  • Hourly compensation, OT possible
  • 4-Day work week, Mon-Thursday (4 x 10 hour days)

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Install and repair racking, panels and standoffs for PV systems, roof & ground-mounted
  • Install and repair mounting systems of racking and modules
  • Prepare and repair all roof penetrations
  • Prep & cleanup of job site
  • Prep & cleanup of warehouse as needed

DAY-TO-DAY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude and a high-level of professionalism.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding
  • Ability to work on residential and commercial rooftops, flat and pitched.
  • Be comfortable working outside during all seasons, i.e. in the heat, cold, wind, rain and snow.
  • Be able to work in a variety of positions, including: stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting.
  • Adhere to safety standards set by company and OSHA
  • Be able to operate handheld power equipment
  • Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment needed to complete assigned job tasks.
  • Be able to lift approx. 40-80 lbs. consistently throughout work day.
  • Possess a valid state driver's license.

Attend company training on new products, safety protocol, HR policies, etc.

Solar experience is not required. We will train candidates with strong work experience and positive attitudes.
