The Job:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solar PV and Energy Storage Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems for residential and commercial clients, ensuring compliance with local, national, and international codes and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive designs for solar PV and energy storage systems for residential and commercial clients.
- Collaborate with the sales team, project managers, installation teams, and other stakeholders to deliver well-designed, install-ready solutions.
- Perform detailed system analyses, including energy yield simulations, shading analysis, and storage system optimization.
- Develop single-line diagrams (SLDs), wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics while ensuring compatibility with inverters, batteries, and other system components.
- Ensure all designs meet permitting, interconnection, and safety standards, including NEC, UL, IEEE, and other applicable codes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Renewable Energy, Environmental or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Active NABCEP PV Design Specialist or NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in designing solar PV and battery energy storage systems.
- Proficiency in energy modeling, battery energy storage system design, electrical design, and risk assessment.
