Summary:Valley Steel Recycling, a leader in sustainable metal recycling solutions, is seeking a skilled Technician with a background in electrical and electronic systems to support our operation. We operate a state-of-the-art Wendt Shredder, downstream processes, and a fleet of heavy equipment and trucks, all of which require expert maintenance and troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems for the Wendt Shredder and downstream operations.
- Perform routine inspections and updates of electrical wiring, panels, and controls for facility equipment.
Electronic Systems Support:
- Repair and calibrate sensors, PLCs, and other electronic components critical to recycling processes.
- Ensure all electronic monitoring and control systems are functioning optimally.
Heavy Equipment and Truck Support:
- Maintain and troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems in heavy equipment, including loaders, excavators, and trucks.
- Address issues in lighting, HVAC systems, and onboard diagnostic systems in vehicles.
Preventative Maintenance:
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all electrical and electronic equipment.
- Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and updates for compliance and future reference.
Collaboration & Training:
- Work closely with the operations team to minimize downtime and maximize equipment efficiency.
- Train team members on basic troubleshooting techniques for electrical and electronic systems.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in electrical and electronic maintenance, preferably in industrial or recycling environments.
- Familiarity with shredders and downstream recycling equipment (preferred but not required).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
- Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Must be safety-conscious and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
