Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Pound Coordinator to oversee the daily operations of the City of Fargo's pound. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing kennel staff, handling cash transactions, safety and sanitation, and ensuring a positive customer experience.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WITH ANIMALS IS A MUST.
Responsibilities:
· Provide customer service and maintain organization at pound window
· Fulfilling contract obligations with the City of Fargo and Cass County Sherriff’s Office
· The health and humane care of all animals housed in the animal pound
· All administrative duties associated with animal intake/processing/releasing
· Monthly administrative duties to include but not limited to city and county statements, facility expense report, and pound to rescue comparison reports.
· Payments associated with animal releases, veterinary care, and supplies
· Ensure the pound is adequately staffed
· Be the primary person to discuss situations with the Fargo Police and/or Sheriff Deputies.
· Establish and update protocols in coordination with PO and PM
· Ensure the contracts between the City and County are up to date and negotiated as needed.
Experience:
- Prior experience in manager, assistant manager, or coordination role.
- Proficiency in cash handling
- Strong training and development skills
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic budgeting principles
- Ability to have logical thought process.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with employee scheduling, training, performance reviews, and agendas.
