Director of Nursing (DON)

Valley View Manor is looking for a Director of Nursing to join our team! The DON will be responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and overall nursing operations of their healthcare facility

Responsibilities Include:

• Supervising all nursing staff
• Overseeing department budgets
• Reporting to higher management in the healthcare facilities
• Maintaining high standards of care for all patients
• Managing patients’ data and medical records as confidential records
• Communicating with doctors, patients and family members about patient health
• Recruiting, training and onboarding new nursing staff
• Providing ongoing education classes
• Supporting a strong sense of team among clinical staff and with all departments in the organization while supporting resident-centered care.
• Implementing new procedures and training Nurses on policies
  
  
  

Qualifications Include:

• Current RN license in State of Minnesota
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a supervisory role in health care
• Experience in a Long Term Care facility
• Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures
• Solid understanding of nursing home regulations.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex medical terminology and situations to residents and families.
• Experience planning, organizing, developing, and evaluating programs, goals, and objectives necessary for providing quality care.
• Willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
• Strong leadership skills with experience leading a diverse team.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people at all levels of an organization, residents, and family members.
