What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cancer Registrar for Calloway-Young Cancer Center position at Valley View?
Valley View's Calloway-Young Cancer Center is seeking an experienced Cancer Registrar. This role will assist in maintaining the cancer registry in accordance with the current American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC) Cancer Program Standards and participating in the cancer committee and related activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) certification through NCRA required
- Associate degree or higher
- Preferred: RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) certification, HIMA (American Health Information Management Association certification, or Accreditation eligible RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician)
- Ability to analyze and report data to medical and administrative professionals
- Ability to communicate with written and verbal proficiency
- Ability to develop peer relationships that achieve common oncology-related goals
- Displays good judgment, self-motivation, initiative, and organizational skills with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and use of reference texts
- Proven ability to prioritize and complete or assign work as needed to meet deadlines and expectations
