Salary Range: Starting at $80,000 per year

Position Overview

Valley Vista Services is seeking a positive and motivated Human Resources Generalist to support our growing team. This full-time position will play a key role in fostering a positive workplace culture, ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws, and providing day-to-day HR support across various functions including recruitment, benefits administration, employee relations and performance.

Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Onboarding:

  • Coordinate the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and offer letters.
  • Manage new hire orientation and onboarding processes to ensure a seamless and welcoming start for new employees.

HR Administration:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Manage employee benefits enrollment, updates, and inquiries.
  • Administer leave of absence programs, including FMLA, CFRA, and other leaves.

Employee Relations:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers by addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting a positive work environment.
  • Provide guidance on company policies, procedures, and best practices.

Employee Performance:

  • Implementing performance review processes, setting goals, providing feedback, and addressing performance issues.
  • Provide support to managers on performance improvement plans and employee development.
  • Creating career development plans with employees to support career progression.

Compliance:

  • Ensure company policies comply with all applicable labor laws and regulations.
  • Assist with audits, investigations, and disciplinary processes as needed.

HR Programs & Initiatives:

  • Contribute to the development and execution of HR programs, such as employee engagement activities, and recognition initiatives.
  • Support the implementation of HR software and tools to streamline HR processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 2-4 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a mid-size organization.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems (experience with UKG, KRONOS or Workday is a plus).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Work Environment

  • Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) most of the workday
  • Required to exert physical effort in handling objects less than 25 pounds rarely
  • Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements rarely
  • Normal setting for this job: office setting
  • Willingness to travel within a 25-mile radius to other company sites as needed
