If you have lived experience with mental health or substance use recovery and are passionate about supporting others, we’d love to have you on our team!
This position is based in Rocky Ford but may require work at the La Junta Peer House as needed. It involves working closely with individuals to provide peer-led support, training, and advocacy in a compassionate, recovery-focused environment.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Work with individuals one-on-one or in group settings, providing information, mentorship, and skills training.
- Assist individuals in accessing treatment, navigating systems of care, and connecting with community resources.
- Document and communicate client participation in peer support activities to ensure continuity of care.
Experience: Personal experience with mental health or substance use recovery (self or as a loved one.)
Requirements:
- Ability to pass a drug test and background check (including MVR).
- TB test result (within the past 12 months).
- Willingness to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid Colorado driver’s license (if required for the position) with insurability and willingness to travel.
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide empathetic and nonjudgmental support.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
