Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Assists Patients Calling or Visiting the Clinic
- Answer and respond appropriately to calls received through red line from call center based on protocol.
- Ensure that urgent patient needs are handled within specific timeframe.
- Return phone calls to patients based on direction from clinical team and appropriately document in patients medical record in EHR.
- Manage patient portal requests and schedule appointments appropriately.
- Schedule patients for follow-up appointments before leaving the clinic.
- Work with Nursing Coordinator and nursing/medical assistant staff to access appropriate triage and assessment of patient symptoms in an urgent or emergent situation.
- Work with Nurse Coordinator and Clinic Manager to provide necessary access to patients.
- Appropriate handling of incoming messages ensuring urgent messages are verbally communicated to medical personnel and documented appropriately in EHR.
- Performs appropriate documentation of patient information in RedCap system.
- Process Authorizations for Imaging and Diagnostics
- Properly handle incoming referrals including report maintenance and documentation, follow up communication with ordering provider

Schedule Imaging and Diagnostics with Performing Entity
- Send orders to Performing Entity
- Inform Patient of Appointments for Imaging and Diagnostics
- Appropriate Documentation of Authorization and Appointments in Nextgen
Job Knowledge & Skills:
- Ability to prioritize work and manage time
- Intermediate use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to communicate professionally in person and on the phone
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clinical teams
Education & Formal Training: High school diploma or GED, BLS certification/training will be provided upon employment.
