Are you a strong Project Manager who wants to move our customers’ performance forward?
In this role as a Project Manager, you will coordinate the effort to bring all elements of the project together and provide oversight and communication channels necessary to meet deadlines for timely delivery, installation and start up at the customer site. You will work internally with our Valmet experts in functional areas such as Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Management, Procurement, Services and possibly construction, to ensure profitability, performance, on time delivery, and customer satisfaction from the time of the sale to the end of the warranty period.
- Responsible for establishing time frames, determining funding limitations, project staffing requirements, and allocation of available resources to various phases of the project.
- Lead project meetings, including but not limited to project engineering kickoff and customer kickoff, and any project coordination meetings.
- Lead the effort to identify project risks and opportunities and manage the risk-mitigation plans.
- Pivotal role ensuring continuous communication with the project team, the customer, other key internal stakeholders and related vendors.
- Coordinate with our Purchasing team to ensure pricing, procurement and delivery of equipment, materials and services. This may include preparation of tender packages, bid evaluations and negotiation.
- Ensures fulfillment of guarantees and manages changes to project scope.
- May oversee or participate in construction management, equipment installation, start-up, and check-out activities as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering from four-year college or university or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing business, with at least 2 years in a project management position with relevant experience.
- Organization skills consistent with managing all aspects of projects.
- Must be comfortable with customer interface and keeping key stakeholder informed of project progress at all times.
- Requires some travel to customer site – could be up to 30%.
- Must be computer savvy and comfortable learning and applying new applications.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
