What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Logistics Coordinator position at Valmet?
We are now looking for a Project Logistics coordinator to join and strengthen our logistical operations in Valmet North America. The purpose of this role is to improve logistical profitability and reliability in NA area and support our business growth by maintaining customer satisfaction and maintaining logistical moves thru VLS (Valmet Logistics System). In this key role, you will collaborate closely with carriers, external suppliers, project management, procurement, engineers and within all Valmet Business Lines. You are responsible for the end-to-end logistical moves to include maintenance and management of the project with our VLS and ERP system.

This Means In Practice
- Manage & coordinate multiple project logistics.
- Budgeting and cost handling using project financial tools and processes.
- Provide comments to legal, commercial contracts, terms and conditions connected to operational logistics to mitigate any potential risk.
- Research, identify, and obtain, the permits, licenses and certificates that are required for customs/state/provincial clearance (Import/Export/domestic).
- Manage and support information to project/delivery management, like planning and scheduling by using tools in delivery process.
- Analyze current performance and propose / implement improvements within delivery processes.
- Develop and carry out logistics activities to meet business needs.
- Create and manage risk and root cause analysis.
- Handle claims and insurance handling related to logistics.
- Support forwarding network and relationships with logistics service providers.
- Support, work with state/provincial/government agencies (Such as CBP).
- Some travel might be expected (Lees than 5%).
- University or college degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or equivalent of a related field.
- 5 years solid experience in supply chain, logistics industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong knowledge of Transportation rules and regulations.
- Strong knowledge of North America truck load, oversize, over dimensional, overweight way to operate.
- Good stakeholder management capabilities to influence and operate in a matrix organization.
- Results driven work approach.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Computer skills (All Microsoft office – Intermediate level)
