We are currently looking for an Accountant for new developments.
We are seeking a detailed-oriented and motivated accountant to join our dynamic finance team at our commercial real estate development company. The accountant will play a pivotal role in overseeing Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), financial statements, and will also be responsible for managing project accounts for our construction projects.

Responsibilities for the position:
Accounts Payable (AP):
· Process and manage vendor invoices for both corporate and construction project expenses.
· Ensure accurate coding, approval, and timely payments.
· Collaborate with project managers to reconcile project-related payables.
Accounts Receivable (AR):
· Generate and oversee customer invoices for real estate transactions and construction project billings.
· Monitor and manage customer accounts, ensuring timely collections and resolution of outstanding balances.
· Coordinate with project managers to address billing inquiries related to construction projects.
Financial Statements:
· Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
· Conduct variance analysis for both corporate and project financials.
· Provide insights into financial performance for real estate development and construction projects.
Project Accounting - Construction:
· Manage project accounts for construction projects, tracking expenses, revenue recognition, and profitability.
· Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
· Monitor project budgets and provide financial analysis on construction project performance.
General Ledger Management:
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts for both corporate and project-specific activities.
· Reconcile balance sheet accounts, addressing discrepancies and ensuring accuracy.
Financial Reporting:
· Assist in the preparation of regulatory and compliance reports related to real estate development and construction activities.
· Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Process Improvement:
· Identify opportunities for process improvement in accounting procedures for both corporate and construction project accounting.
· Implement changes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and alignment with industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and project accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software.
- Prior Experience in Sage ERP is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers and construction teams.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
