Job Description
Our ideal candidate will oversee the day-to-day functioning of the dental clinic, providing primary oral health care to detainees, and adhering to radiation safety protocols. You will also be responsible for referring patients to dental specialists when necessary, prescribing medication as required, and assisting with technical oversight of dental auxiliary staff.
Core Responsibilities
* Oversees the day-to-day functioning of the dental clinic
* Provides primary oral health care including examination, diagnosis and treatment of patients
* Assures strict sharps and instruments control through maintenance of prescribed logging and counts
* Refers patients to dental specialists through the managed care program for consultation and/or treatment
* Prescribes and/or dispenses required medication to patients
* Assists with technical oversight of the dental auxiliary staff
Requirements
* Must have a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited institution
* Must be licensed to practice dentistry in the United States
* Must have experience working in a correctional setting or similar environment
* Strong communication and leadership skills are essential for success in this role
