Job Summary:
The Engineering Technician I will set up new manufacturing operations and create/update documentation for manufacturing processes and testing, train on and run a variety of machines including but not limited to manual mills, lathes, grinders, bandsaws, CNC mills, and CNC lathes, and train on programming CNC machines. The Engineering Technician I will be able to read and understand part drawings with at minimum, a basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate manufacturing processes with limited oversight including CNC programing and machine setup
- Read and interpret manufacturing drawings and requirements
- Provide information for documentation of new manufacturing processes
- Assist in Engineering Sustainment activities to support ongoing Manufacturing operations – to include but not limited to: restoring manufacturing processes to operation following failures, participating in process improvement efforts, providing training to others, updating process documentation
- Participate in NPI (New Product Introduction) activities as necessary and as directed
- Attend and contribute to discourse during team meetings and leverage senior team members for knowledge and direction
- Conceptualize, design and manufacture part holding fixtures for low and high-volume manufacturing processes
- Coordinate the repair, rebuild and improvement of tooling, fixturing and machinery
- Support new product development and continuous improvement projects by collaborating with engineering and operations teams to ensure project deadlines are achieved
- Maintain productivity and professionalism when working independently and/or on a team
- Uphold Valor standards and specifications
- Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder
- Must pass initial and subsequent background checks
- Must pass preemployment and subsequent drug and alcohol screenings
- Must comply with internal non-disclosure agreement requirements
- Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Maintain Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives “Employee Possessor” eligibility and Federal Prohibitor status regarding firearms
- Possess knowledge of metallurgy, mathematics, and blueprint reading
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products including Word and Excel
- Must have an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Machining Technology, Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent job experience
- 2 years’ experience with CNC Machine setup and operation
Physical Requirements:

- FREQUENT (up to 66%): walking, sitting, climbing on/off truck, reading, lifting up to 10 lbs.
- CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): speaking clearly, seeing distant, seeing, hearing speech-range, depth-perception.
Position works Monday - Thursday, 10 hour days.
