Job Summary
The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) plays a critical role in guiding the company's financial strategy and operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this position oversees budgeting, forecasting, costing analysis, and the evaluation of business trends. The Director of FP&A will provide actionable insights to enhance business profitability, develop ad-hoc reporting to support decision-making, and communicate financial data effectively to diverse business leaders. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills to align financial planning with the organization's objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and management of the company's budgeting and forecasting processes to ensure financial alignment with strategic goals.
- Conduct detailed costing analyses and evaluate business trends to identify opportunities for increased profitability and operational efficiency.
- Create and deliver ad-hoc financial reports and dashboards using tools such as Power BI and Excel to provide data-driven insights to business leaders.
- Collaborate with business units to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights tailored to varying audiences, ensuring understanding and alignment.
- Drive team development and foster a collaborative environment to enhance FP&A team performance and engagement.
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial reports and analyses.
- Support strategic decision-making by identifying financial risks and opportunities, proposing solutions, and recommending actions to the leadership team.
Primary Skills & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required; CPA preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience: Prior experience in FP&A is highly desired, though candidates with a strong finance and accounting background will be considered.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in data manipulation, Power BI, and Excel. Experience working with databases is a plus.
- Competencies: Strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively engage with and influence business leaders at all levels.
- Soft Skills: Demonstrated team-building capabilities and a collaborative approach to leadership.
