Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Program Manager to oversee the research and development of cutting-edge hypersonic systems. This pivotal role involves managing government-funded programs, ensuring compliance with government contractual regulations, and fostering collaboration with key stakeholders, including the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering background, exceptional program management expertise, and a proven ability to successfully manage multiple high-value contracts within a complex, highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the execution of multiple government contracts funding the research and development of hypersonic airbreathing vehicles, ensuring alignment with contract objectives, schedules, and budgets
- Oversee all aspects of program performance, including technical, cost, and schedule adherence, while delivering high-quality results
- Ensure full compliance with DoD regulations, including FAR, DFAR, and DCAA requirements
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to guide the technical direction of hypersonic airbreathing vehicle development programs
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, including the DoD, MDA, and other key stakeholders in the missile defense industry
- Ensure all contractual deliverables are met and compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations is maintained
- Monitor and report on contract performance, resolving issues and mitigating risks in collaboration with stakeholders
- Ensure that all efforts align with contract specifications and leverage state-of-the-art technologies in propulsion, materials, and thermal management
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across multiple contracts and technical efforts to ensure successful program delivery
- Develop and implement long-term program strategies to achieve operational goals and support contractual requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, aerospace, or a related technical field (an advanced degree is highly preferred)
- Minimum of 7 years of program management experience in aerospace, defense, or a related industry
- Demonstrated success in managing government contracts and ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) regulatory frameworks
- In-depth understanding of hypersonic systems, propulsion technologies, missile defense systems, or related advanced aerospace technologies
- Proven ability to manage multiple high-value contracts simultaneously, delivering results within strict deadlines and requirements while maintaining quality and cost-effectiveness
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities, with a strong aptitude for managing cross-functional and multi-organization teams
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret or Top Secret (TS) security clearance, as required by government contracts
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related discipline
- Direct experience working with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) or similar DoD entities
- Familiarity with advanced hypersonic airbreathing technologies, including scramjets, ramjets, or related propulsion systems
- Extensive experience managing program cost, quality, and schedules
- Prior experience in research and development engineering organizations, driving innovation and ensuring alignment with technical and operational goals
- Experience implementing programmatic improvements and fostering efficiencies across complex technical and operational environments
