Value Aluminum Windows & Doors, Inc., a leading Windows & Doors manufacturer in the Southern California area is currently hiring CNC Machinist in Moreno Valley, CA.
Summary Description: The CNC Machinist, under the direction of their immediate supervisor, is responsible for ensuring that CNC manufacturing centers operate smoothly with minimal downtime, proper preventive maintenance, and consistently high-quality output.
This position takes ownership of CNC machinery, focusing primarily on profile processing centers and other CNC equipment used for fabrication. Core responsibilities include hands-on operation, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and cleaning of machines, as well as ensuring compliance with operational procedures and providing training to other team members. This role includes macro programming and verifying product quality against blueprints and interface files. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in both manual and CNC machining, solid equipment maintenance experience, and the ability to interpret both AutoCAD and paper drawings with a keen eye for detail.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC machining centers in the fabrication facility and develop a thorough understanding of the profiles and machining required.
- Assist in the setup or relocation of machining centers.
- Take ownership of macro programming on the CNC machine and ensure that the output accurately reflects the engineering design.
- Ensure that tooling, fixtures, and machine parameters are properly configured to optimize efficiency.
- Develops and implements a comprehensive preventive maintenance schedule for all CNC equipment.
- Work with other team members in daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks, ensuring that best practices are consistently followed.
- Interprets CAD drawings and production specifications to verify the accuracy and quality of CNC outputs.
- Collaborates closely with the engineering team to address dimensional discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Works with engineering and maintenance teams to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, or software-related machine issues.
- Provides hands-on support during breakdowns, ensuring that repairs are carried out safely and efficiently.
- Identifies opportunities for optimizing CNC processes, improving cycle times, and reducing waste.
- Recommends enhancements to tooling, programming techniques, and maintenance procedures.
- Maintains accurate machine logs, service records, and training documentation.
- Track and report known issues in profile processing production to management and suggest improvement strategies.
- Follows company safety policies and practices and helps train others in safe work practices and performing routine safety checks.
- Other duties and special projects as the need arises.
Experience & Skill Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining CNC machinery (preferably in aluminum window or metal fabrication).
- Strong knowledge of automated equipment and proficiency with CNC programming (e.g., G-code, M-code).
- Experience with CAD/CAM software and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, and technical documents.
- Previous experience in preventive maintenance of automated equipment and a strong understanding of preventive maintenance principles and techniques.
- Detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
- Able to work flexible hours if necessary to meet equipment-repairing demands.
- Previous experience training and supervising other individuals is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Training & Education:
- An associate degree or higher is required.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting CAD drawings.
- Education in CNC programming is preferred.
- Computer literacy, with strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
