Description:
The Assistant Operations Manager leads operations, promotes service and sales, and employee
development in the Operations. The ABM provides superior level of customer service, promotes a service and sales culture through mentoring and coaching, and develops new deposit and loan business. The ABM is responsible for implementing human resource strategies that involve cultivating a solid team, leadership according to ValueBank Texas’ core values and mission statement, and focus on delivering the best customer and employee experience.
Key Assistant Responsibilities:
Operations:
- Manages Operations personnel including training, mentoring, staffing, scheduling, prioritizing, and delegating work assignments
- Responsible for opening new accounts and maintaining customer relationships
- Performs monthly, quarterly and annual audits, reviews accounts for CIP exceptions
- Audit bank vault, buying and selling of cash, ensuring regulations such as REG CC holds are done properly, balance and replenish ATM according to bank policy
- Must comply with BSA/AML/OFAC regulations and guidelines
Business Development/Sales Development:
- Maintains strong collaborative relationships with relative business lines, partners, and peers
- Strengthens and maintains customer relationships by cross selling products and delivering superior customer service
- Participates in bank sponsored community volunteer projects and assignments to increase bank’s visibility Identifies referral opportunities and makes relevant referrals across lines of business
Employee Development:
- Leads and follows up on action plans to improve employee experience
- Does observations to evaluate and mentor team to encourage stronger performance
- Supports Retail Operations Manager in their external market/business development objectives by managing to superior service and sales
- Performs other job-related duties or special projects as assigned
Requirements:
- 1-2 years banking experience
- College degree preferred (relevant years of experience can be substituted at discretion of management
- Generally, 1-2 years’ experience in managing a team, may be substituted at management’s discretion
- Demonstrates people leadership in a service-driven sales culture
