The Technical Sales Specialist will work with customers and company account managers to provide technical inside sales support, field sales support, inventory control, and facility management.
Core Duties & Responsibilities :
Sales & Customer Support
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Provide technical guidance to customers regarding valve selection, specifications, and applications.
- Prepare and follow up on quotes, sales orders, and purchase orders for new products, repair, and service work.
- Collaborate with manufacturers and vendors for special orders and technical support.
- Work with purchasing and inventory teams to confirm product availability and lead times.
- Assist customers in troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Process field service tickets for customer billing
- Coordinate with service supervisor on upcoming field service requirements
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to drive repeat business.
- Identify opportunities for upselling or offering alternative solutions.
- Support the outside sales team with customer account management.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of various types of valve products.
- Understand materials, pressure ratings, flow characteristics, and industry standards (API, ASME, ANSI, etc.).
- Stay updated on new product offerings, industry trends, and competitor products.
