Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays.
- Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols during all imaging procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to determine appropriate imaging techniques based on patient needs.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and answering questions to alleviate anxiety.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of imaging results.
- Operate imaging equipment safely and effectively while adhering to established protocols.
- Assist in the training of new staff or students as needed.
- Stay updated on advancements in radiologic technology and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Skills
- Must have current registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography or be registry eligible.
- Strong understanding of diagnostic radiology principles and practices.
- Ability to perform scans efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
