Opportunity

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Laboratory Technician to join our team in Wetherill Park.

This is a day shift role with shift hours from 5:30am – 1:30pm. You will be required to test products as instructed by the Laboratory Manager and in accordance with the accepted test procedures as set out in the Laboratory Manual.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine testing of blended production samples with the accepted test procedures, compare against specification, and take appropriate corrective actions when required.
• Adjust blend sheets, advise blenders of appropriate actions when blends are off spec.
• Liaise with production personnel and advise final adjustments on production blend batches
• Take appropriate actions to correct off-spec blends
• Maintain all records of analyses and file documents
• Confirm final valve setting on all incoming bulk deliveries
• Test incoming raw materials against specifications
• Testing of non-routine samples from in-house, suppliers, and customers
• Take part in laboratory audits (ISO 9001, NATA ISO 17025 and not limited to other third-party audits or in-house audits)

To be successful, you will have:

• Relevant TAFE or University degree in the scientific field
• Experience within laboratory field in an analytical laboratory is preferable
• Sound knowledge of relevant computer applications and proficient in data entry and management
• Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
• Good numeracy skills – ability to work with alpha-numeric codes, basic mathematics, weights etc.
• Excellent communication, information management and problem-solving skills
