JOB OVERVIEW:
Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor will manage the production teams at the plant and work closely with the supporting departments such as Maintenance, Safety, Quality, Accounting, and Engineering to identify proactive ways to continuously improve plant production, including safety, quality, efficiency, and engagement/morale. This position requires problem-solving skills, supervisory skills, an exceptional grasp of the production process, and the ability to develop, engage and inspire teams. The Production Supervisor is responsible for all plant people, assets, and activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and lead a high performing production team across all production lines to actively engage employees.
  • Oversee all production at the facility. Serve as main point of contact for all production Leads.
  • Coordinate production activities with scheduling, purchasing, maintenance, quality, and safety to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
  • Create and maintain production schedules in concert with Product Line manager.
  • Create and maintain an environment for a safe and healthy workforce. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal OSHA rules and regulations and GSH policies and set expectations for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that all HAACP and GMP, and BRC requirements are met.
  • Balance resources against new growth projects and efficiency of current items. Work with Operations Manager and General Manager to work on new projects as needed.
  • Work closely with Product Line to identify opportunities for improvement in planning, scheduling, and efficiency.
  • Must demonstrate technical curiosity and willing to work alongside the team as needed for new products, new machinery, or operator training.
  • Coordinate with maintenance team and contractors on the maintenance and repair of processing equipment or the building.
  • Review production and operating reports/records. Resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues to ensure cost effectiveness and prevent operational delays.
  • Continually work towards improving process efficiencies throughout the plant.
  • Oversee weekly timesheets for plant employees to ensure payroll is submitted on time.
  • Establishes a positive working environment, fostering a culture of growth and development. Develop team skills through open communication, consistent and fair performance reviews, and internal and external skill training.
  • Create inviting environment for customers and act as plant customer liaison working with the corporate tour guide.
  • Conduct all duties in an environmentally responsible manner.
  • Perform any other duty as assigned.
JOB EXPERIENCE:
  • 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish and English required.
  • Supervisory/Leadership skills.
  • Developed listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Organizational and detail skills.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Must be a problem-solver who demonstrates good judgement.
  • Demonstrates strategic thinking and excellence in execution. Relentless about leading to continuously improve all aspects of plant operations.
  • Proven success in leading a food processing facility or other manufacturing operation.
  • Established proficiency in financial, production, safety, and quality leadership and metrics.
  • Critical thinker with an ability to analyze complex decisions quantitatively and qualitatively.
  • Good working knowledge of production equipment, systems, and controls.
  • Willing and able to lead in emergency situations consistent with operations.
  • A Proficiency in the MS Office Suite
EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Must be able to work in a dusty, cold, hot, humid, wet, loud, or outdoor work environment as needed.

  • Expected Pay Range: $33.65 - $38.46
  • Bonus: This role may further qualify for supplemental compensation in the form of bonus and incentive programs, contingent upon achieving pre-established individual and company performance metrics.
