What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving Associate position at Van Keppel?
Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:
- Setting up outbound shipments of products, materials, supplies and/or truck freight and small packages to the customer
- Using shipping software and/or other sources to find the best shipping method
- Adding tracking information and cost to the PSO
- Tracks, traces and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments
- Collaborating and communicating with transportation companies, customer service representatives, service providers or others involved in the shipping and receiving process
- Receiving PPO using packing slips/invoices/order confirmations
- Printing packing slips for the warehouse
- Printing Parts Sales Orders/Counter Tickets for sales representatives or other employees
- Printing receiving documents with BIN Location, quantity and part numbers
- Locating and adding freight cost to Parts Sales Orders
- Processing vendor invoices to accounting department
- Following priority protocols for required tasks
- Picking ticket orders in a timely and accurately
- Helping to unload trucks and deliveries and sorting and stocking receivables when needed
- Maintaining accurate records of daily product moves
- Scanning inventory and providing accurate inventory counts
- Ensuring product received matches product on invoicing
- When necessary, may transport parts or other goods from one location to another location
- Taking sales orders either by phone or online and processing them if needed at the location
- Handling phone calls from the customer if needed at the location
- Maintaining a clean, neat and member-ready area
- Engaging positively and helpfully with co-workers, vendors and drivers
- Following all required safety rules and regulations and company policies
- Performing other duties as assigned by management at specific work location
Job Skills Competencies:
- Must obtain forklift certification within 90 days of start date
- Familiarity with Radio Frequency (RF) equipment preferred at some locations

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
- This position requires sitting, standing, twisting, squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling on a daily basis
- Must be able to work indoors or outdoors under a variety of temperatures and weather conditions
- High School Diploma or GED
- 6 months of shipping/receiving experience
- 6 months using shipping software
- 6 months of customer service experience
- Proficiency using Microsoft Excel
- Experience with inventory control preferred
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to work occasional overtime
