What are the responsibilities and job description for the REAC Technician position at Van Rooy Properties?
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Technician is responsible for completing repairs, preventative maintenance including general plumbing and electrical repairs for all assigned properties. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with construction, including drywall and interior finishing, plumbing, electrical and other general maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Exhibit professional behavior and dress as required by Van Rooy
- Present a professional demeanor to guest, residents and co-workers
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and hand tools suitable for maintenance-related work
- Physical capabilities to carry out job responsibilities including the ability to lift 80-100 lbs. stand or kneel for extended periods of time, ability to walk, talk and have use of both hands.
- Must have basic knowledge and experience in all areas of residential plumbing, electrical, punch work and light millwork
- HVAC Certification strongly desired
- Must have the knowledge and ability to perform preventative maintenance and repairs to electrical and lighting systems, HVAC systems and plumbing systems
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain flower beds, shrubs, trees, walkways and paths at assigned properties
- Operate and maintain power equipment essential to fertilizing, snow removal, and other related tasks
- Order appropriate maintenance supplies needed for jobs after approval
- Assist as needed in emergency situations
- Consult with Supervisor or Management on major repairs, replacements and/or contracts
- Assist with event preparation and set-up as requested
- Attend meetings, training sessions and seminars as requested
- Maintain a working knowledge of all fair housing laws, its policies and practices and be fair and consistent in upholding these and all company policies
- Comply with all OSHA regulations and any applicable laws regarding health, safety and environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Other potential duties:
- Complete resident requested service orders on a timely basis (24-hours, unless stated otherwise) -
- Complete all assigned maintenance work on vacant apartments within 5 business days (unless stated otherwise)
