Seasonal Garden Center Department Manager (March to December)

Van Wilgen's Garden Center is seeking a Garden Center Department Manager for one of it's Shoreline CT Garden Mart locations.

Responsibilities include customer service, point of sale cash management, small team supervision & scheduling, plant maintenance, plant merchandising, inventory management and ordering from main store.

Candidate must have:

• Passion and enthusiasm for plants and gardens
• Ability to schedule and manage a small # of employees
• Knowledge of annual and perennial flowering plants is a plus
• Outgoing customer friendly personality
• Detail orientation with respect to operations and inventory tasks
• Like working in outdoor environment
• Ability to work weekends
• Minimum 5 years of work experience including retail experience

Retail garden center experience will be a real plus.
