Material Handler

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Material Handler to join our team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the efficient handling of materials, ensuring that products are accurately received, stored, and shipped. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to operate heavy equipment safely.

Duties

• Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment for loading and unloading materials.
• Perform heavy lifting of products and materials as needed.
• Assist in shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory management.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with OSHA standards.
• Utilize order pickers and other machinery to fulfill orders efficiently.
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and address any operational issues.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any mechanical issues.
• Support the overall operations of the distribution center by building pallets and preparing items for shipment.

Requirements

• Proven experience in materials handling or a related field is preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment when necessary.
• Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, including inventory management systems.
• Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) consistently throughout the shift.
• Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts or order pickers is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to warehouse safety practices.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
