Starting salary will depend on qualifications and experience.Job Description: This position will supervise the provision of 24-hour emergency on-call child protective services by supervising social workers assigned to after hours on-call responsibility for accepting reports of child abuse, neglect or dependency, assisting in making screening decisions regarding after-hours reports, providing guidance and consultation to social workers who initiate and investigate after-hours CPS reports, providing support and assistance when it is necessary to create temporary safety plans to assure the safety of children, or when it is necessary to file for the legal custody of a child or children and locate an appropriate placement resource. On-Call staff may be required to handle cases that originate before 5:00 p.m. on regular workdays. Supervision of on-call social workers will include after-hours on regular workdays, weekends, and holidays. Supervisor will provide consultation and guidance after-hours to emergency situations involving children active for in-home services or foster children in placement. Position will assist with after-hours consultation involving adult protective services and other adult services emergencies. Supervisor may be required to report to the office at the end of regular workdays to discuss cases transitioning to after-hours social worker or, as needed, regarding transition of after-hours case actions to regular day-time staff. The position will rotate time being available for on-call supervision duties. Position may be required to assist with supervision of children in DSS custody being cared for after-hours in the DSS office, pending location of an appropriate placement resource, or assist with shelter operation in the event of a disaster declaration. KSA: Abilities - Knowledge of methods and principles of casework supervision and training. Considerable knowledge of social work principles; techniques and practices and their application to specific casework and community problems. Considerable knowledge of behavioral and socioeconomic problems and their treatment and governmental and private organizations and community resources. Considerable knowledge of the laws; regulations and policies which govern social work programs. Ability to supervise; train; or orient lower-level social workers; students; interns or other staff. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan and execute work effectively Minimum Training and Experience - Master's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; or a bachelor's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or a master's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or a bachelor's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of directly related experience; or a bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
