What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welding Instructor (Part-Time) position at Vance-Granville Community College?
Under the supervision of the appropriate Program/Department Head/Director or Academic/Campus Dean, the instructor is responsible for course content and syllabi for all assigned courses. Each instructor will provide effective instruction in all classes by implementing active learning strategies and focusing on student learning outcomes.
At all times, instructional personnel should be aware of the need to continue the personal and professional growth necessary to perform their duties.

- Teaching assigned classes,
- Assisting with all instructional activities such as maintaining class records, syllabi, objectives, tests, and lesson plans,
- Developing, maintaining, and evaluating educational materials,
- Assessing student learning outcomes and demonstrating the use of the results to make improvements to the course/program,
- Experimenting with innovative teaching techniques, and other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required:
- Associate degree in Welding or a related field.
- Two years of prior welding experience in GTAW, GMAW and SMAW. Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) required.
Teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
Physical Requirements:
- Moving objects up to 75 pounds.
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
- Laboratory set-up and take-down for in person labs
